متن کاملFrom Classical to Quantum Shannon Theory
The aim of this book is to develop"from the ground up"many of the major, exciting, pre- and post-millenium developments in the general area of study known as quantum Shannon theory. As such, we spend a significant amount of time on quantum mechanics for quantum information theory (Part II), we give a careful study of the important unit protocols of teleportation, super-dense coding, and entangl...
متن کاملA Categorical Framework for Quantum Theory
Underlying any theory of physics is a layer of conceptual frames. They connect the mathematical structures used in theoretical models with physical phenomena, but they also constitute our fundamental assumptions about reality. Many of the discrepancies between quantum physics and classical physics (including Maxwell’s electrodynamics and relativity) can be traced back to these categorical found...
متن کاملReversible Framework for Quantum Resource Theories.
In recent years it has been recognized that properties of physical systems such as entanglement, athermality, and asymmetry, can be viewed as resources for important tasks in quantum information, thermodynamics, and other areas of physics. This recognition was followed by the development of specific quantum resource theories (QRTs), such as entanglement theory, determining how quantum states th...
متن کاملGeneralized Quantum Shannon Impossibility for Quantum Encryption
The famous Shannon impossibility result says that any encryption scheme with perfect secrecy requires a secret key at least as long as the message. In this paper we prove its quantum analogue with imperfect secrecy and imperfect correctness. We also provide a systematic study of information-theoretically secure quantum encryption with two secrecy definitions.
